One of the joys of visiting Dong Mafai is meeting the local dogs who live in the camp.

Son-in-Law
Son-in-law found his way to the camp after meeting his wife, Coconut, who had been living at the camp for some time prior. They immediately bonded over their shared experience in the woods, love of humans, and collective sense of responsibility. Son-in-law has an easygoing nature and often joins us for hikes with his friends. He is well-liked in the community.
Coconut
Is Son in Law's wife. She enjoys socializing with the other dogs as well as humans. She is tall and skinny and somewhat defensive of the human community. She likes to keep the other dogs following "the way that things are." She and Lee don't get along.

Lee
Lee was born in the camp. She loves humans and can often be found resting near the camp's cafe. She has a soft way and enjoys sitting and resting near human friends. She is a little distant from the other dogs. She is human-centric and charming.
Ko-Nom
Ko-Nom has the same coloring as a cow. They have a minor health issue that causes their head to shake. This does not prevent her from being involved in activities with her friends. She
is one of the first to come along for a hike and the most enthusiastic farm assistant.

Ko-Neua
She enthusiastically followed us up to the peak on one hike to a high mountain. She had trouble coming down but gracefully made it down with some assistance. She lives an ethical and straightforward life. Her presence is quiet.

Mala
Mala is a ball of energy in a lean dog's body. She likes to play and bite your hand (softly). She has been hit by a car twice, but you would not know. Rumor has it she is on her fourth life out of a hundred. Her name "Mala" refers to a "Chinese Hot Pot." She had several siblings that were all adopted.
